Well Balanced
A tasting term used for a wine that has a perfect texture with a balanced proportion of alcohol, fruit, acid or astringency.
Well balanced, with finesse and breed.
Fat
Full-bodied but flabby, which in white wines is often due to too much residual sugar. When applied to red wines, it means softness and maturity.

Harsh
Used to describe astringent wines that are tannic or high in alcohol.

The wines are well balanced and rich, with sufficient acidity to ensure a long life. The Côte de Nuits may be marginally better than the Côtes de Beaune, but there will always be exceptions.

Firm

Weak, lacking in character and acidity, with no potential for development.

If these elements are all in harmony, a wine is said to be well balanced.
Big. Powerful, alcoholic, but well balanced and with a potential for further development.

A wine is well balanced when none of those characteristics dominates. Wine not in balance may be acidic, cloying, flat, or harsh.

Favorable adjective bestowed when the varietal characteristics of the grape are optimally present in a well balanced wine. Ripe-tasting wines tend toward being slightly more fruity and sweet than otherwise normal wines.
