So, in that case, do white grapes make white wine? Well, yes, grapes with paler shades such as yellow, green or even light pink hues make white wine (these are the grapes that we refer to as "white").

White wine is almost always the result of crushing green rather than black grapes. The two exceptions are pink Champagne and rosés. These start with black grapes, but the skin is removed very shortly after fermentation starts to occur.

Chardonnay (Shar-doe-nay)
This popular dry white wine is more full bodied than other white wines. Chardonnay has aromas of fruits and acidity. The aroma typically has flavors of lemon or grapefruit.

White wine grape, native to Bordeaux and used there primarily in a blend with Sauvignon Blanc; increasingly seen as a varietal in the U.S. and Australia, where it makes a soft, medium-bodied, sometimes pleasantly musky white wine.

BOSCO: White wine variety mainly found in the Liguria region of Italy. Has synonym name Madea. Used to make the mildly aromatic, dry blend known as "Cinqueterre" that includes the grape varieties Albarola and Vermentino.

CHABLIS
White wine from the Chablis area of France. Made from Chardonnay grapes.

Glasses- White wine is commonly served in a smaller, slightly curved glass that helps hold the wine's chill and accentuates its delicate flavor and aroma. Using large, bowl shaped glasses helps to heighten the flavor and aroma of red wine.

Among the many white wines of Campania, two in particular have become successful outside this region, also obtaining, in 2003, the Denominazione d'Origine Controllata e Garantita status (DOCG, Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin).

Varieties for white wines
Aurelius
Origin: (Neuburger x Rhine Riesling). Not extended in a bigger range yet - it takes only a part of 0,35 % in the entire vineyard area in the Czech Republic, but its proportion rises.

Aligoté: A white wine grape used in various blends in many countries but best known for its fruity, light wines from Burgundy in France.

Common color in white wines, lighter and less yellow than gold.

White of blacks, white wine made of red or black grapes, where the juice is squeezed from the grapes and fermented without skin contact. The wines can have a pale pink hue. E.G., e.g., Champagne that is made from Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier.

More particularly, white wine grapes and musts should have a pH close to 3.2 (3.1 to 3.3). Red wine grapes or musts should have a pH of 3.3 to 3.4 with pH 3.55 as tops.

Retsina. A dry white wine made in Greece, mostly from the Savatiano grape, to which pine resin has been added.

Aperitif French word for drinks served before a meal; often these are light, dry white wines. Appellation since the appellation ties the product to its place of origin, the word "appellation" may mean either a wine or a wine-growing locality.

Crispness is a desirable quality in light, flinty white wines that are drunk young.

A blush wine is made from red grapes but in a white wine style. Blush wines are pink in color.
Body
A wine's body is its weight as perceived in the mouth. A wine may be described as light, medium, or full bodied.

BUBBLES - The appearance of bubbles in a still wine is usually indicative of the presence of carbon dioxide left over from fermentation, or even intentionally dissolved into white wine to enhance “freshness.

White wines are usually more delicate than red wines. Few Rhõne red wines can correctly be called delicate.

Remember that as reds age, they become lighter, and when a white wine ages it becomes darker.

Many white wines, and in particular Chardonnays, are fermented in small oak barrels. This adds some complexity to the wine, and also imparts toasty, nutty and vanilla-like flavours to the wine, especially when the barrels are new.
