ABHIMANA: Egoism, identification with the body. ABHYASA: Spiritual practice. ADHIKARI: A qualified person. ADHISHTHANA: Substratum, support. ADHYASA: Superimposition or false attribution of properties of one thing on another thing.
Abhimana: Egoistic identification. Abhinivesha: Clinging to life. Abhivyakta: Manifestation. Abhyantara: Internal. Abhyasa: Spiritual practice. Adhimatra: Intense. Ahamkara: Egoism; self-assertive principle.
Ahamkara is characterized by the sense of I-ness (abhimana), sense of mine-ness, identifying with the body (madiyam), planning for one's own happiness (mamasukha), brooding over sorrow (mamaduhkha), and possessiveness (mama idam).
