'Abhyasa', in Hinduism, is spiritual practice which is regular and constant practice over a long period of time.

YOGA-ABHYASA:
cher who has medical knowledge as well as knowledge of science of Yoga. Diabetes can be cured by Asanas, process of Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha etc. properly practised.

Abhyasa and vairagya are fused in the intense yet serene mental absorption known as samadhi.

-Abhyasa is the way of repeated practice, said the angel. The practice could be karma yoga or bhakti yoga or any other type of sadhana, depending on which practice suits you best. Repeated practice is necessary to destroy the vrittis.

ABHYASA: Spiritual practice.
ADHIKARI: A qualified person.
ADHISHTHANA: Substratum, support.
ADHYASA: Superimposition or false attribution of properties of one thing on another thing.
ADHYATMIC: Spiritual.
ADHYAYANA: Study.
ADVAITA: Non-duality.

Places of cool or temperate climate are required for Yoga Abhyasa as you will get easily exhausted in hot place. You must select such a place where you can comfortably stay all through the year in winter, summer and rainy season.

This is a more advanced course in Yogabhyasa (Study of Yoga). Besides difficult Asanas the training includes more cleansing processes (ShuddhiKriya), Meditaion (Dhyan), the 48 types of Pranayamas and lot of theoritical studies.

Salute your Guru and Sri Ganesa as soon as you sit in the Asana. The time for Abhyasa is early morning 4 a.m., 10 a.m., evening 4 p.m., and night 10 p.m., or 12 p.m. As you advance in practice you will have to do 320 Pranayamas daily.

Brahmamuhurta - The period from 3 to 6 a.m. intended for Yoga-Abhyasa.
Brahmarandhra - An aperture in the crown of the head
Bhrumadhya - The space between the eyebrows.

How is it possible to discern our thoughts?
Chapter 1 Verse 12 says through practice and detachment (abhyasa and vairagya)! ...

In the terminology of the system of Indian Yoga, these constitute Vairagya and Abhyasa. In fact, all saints have said only this, that phenomena have to be renounced, that the Imperishable Spirit should be contemplated upon and realized.
