Standing Side Stretch (Ardha Chandrasana I)
The Standing Side Stretch is another pose with two lines of energy radiating outward from your center.

You could suggest a whole series starting with Tadasana with toes off the floor, then Uttkatasana, then one-legged poses like Vrksasana and Ardha Chandrasana initially and then Virabhadrasana 3, Garudasana, Natarajasana.

To get a feel of pada bandha try single leg balancing poses such as ardha chandrasana, Nataraja, or especially warrior III where the foot "cups" the earth.

First sit in vajrasana, then raise the arms straight up over your head. Gradually bend from the waist until the palms and forehead touch the floor. This is called shashankasana or ardha chandrasana, half moon pose.
