Sound that represents the Absolute Brahman . According to the Upanishads , the word AUM consists of three letters \"A ,U, and M\" representing waking , dreaming ,and deep sleep .

Aum is one of the sacred sounds (pranava) in the great Indian tradition. But AUM is a sound, word, and symbol that have permeated western culture more extensively than almost any other aspect of the Indian tradition.

AUM is a root of all mantras.
"Mantras" is a typical combination of words which affects the surrounding and human beings through the vibrations. These mantras are to be chanted for enormous number of times to get the results.

If the mantra "AUM GANG GANAPATAYE NAMAH" is repeated 5000 times for 25 days one will see the efect of the mantra. Ganapati or Ganesha is supposed to be the obstacle remover. He gives all kinds of physical and mental powers.

Om (also written Aum) is the oldest and most sacred sound found in yoga, Hinduism and Buddhism. Not only does Om represent the entire universe, known as Brahman, it is also said to be the source of all creation.

Some mantrams such as AUM can be said before initiation and others should not be used. The simple yet powerful mantram Aum harmonizes the physical forces with the emotional forces with the intellectual forces.

The bowls vibrate at the frequency of perfection, otherwise known as the Sanskrit mantra AUM. They create harmonic overtones in which each note contains all other notes and none is a separate entity on its own.

It has sixteen petals of smokey purple color on which are inscribed the sixteen vowels of the Sanskrit alphabet: am, am, im, im, um, us ra, rm, lm, lm, em, aim, om, aum, a, h.

Om: also written as 'AUM' according the Yogi's and Rishi's OM (AUM) is considered to be the sound that represents the Ultimate Reality, the primordial vibration, which is prefixed to many mantras.

The sounds in Om (AUM) represent the waking, dream and deep sleep states and then silence which surrounds Om represents the "Turiya" (blissful) state.

Another yoga technique is Aum; its aim is to extend one’s awareness beyond the common human awareness. Nevertheless, such superior yoga techniques can be gradually reached or approached by anyone who makes progress with the practice.
