Avadhuta Gita (Devanagari: अवधूत -ीता, IAST:Avadh"ta G"tā) is a Hindu text based on the principles of Advaita Vedanta (nondualism).

 


Avadhuta ("he who has shed [everything]"): a radical type of renouncer (samnyasin) who often engages in unconventional behavior

Avadhuta: An enlightened being who lives in a state beyond body-consciousness.

Then he went to Hardwar, threw off the Danda and became an Avadhuta. He was in Uttarkashi also. When sharp, big flies were biting his body, when blood was emerging profusely, he would never disturb the flies. Such was his power of endurance.

We are all the children of Dattatreya. Adorations to him at all times! Dattatreya's "Avadhuta Gita" and his instructions to king Yadu mark out his Supreme Wisdom of Brahman. He lived in Brahman and he breathed Brahman.
