Bala Asana
The Child Pose
The Sanskrit word bala means child. The bala-asana is one of the more relaxing Yoga postures and can easily be done by beginners.

 


Bala: Strength or immunity.
Bandha: Binding, a muscular lock.
Bandha Padmasana: The bound lotus posture.

The scene on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, notably where he addresses Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita, is another common subject for representation.
