The Role of Bihar Yoga Bharati

Today is the first anniversary of Bihar Yoga Bharati which is the academic wing of Bihar School of Yoga. It is also the 109th birthday of our Paramguru, Swami Sivananandaji.

 


Bharata:

Mahabharat
The famous battle of Mahabharat took place between two clans, the Kauravs and the Pandavs, in the era of Lord Krishna. It was in that battle that Krishna revealed his true form to Arjun and gave sermons which are compiled as Geeta.

A 30 year bharathanatyam dancer came to our center with CFS and it was surprising to see how tired she was. Although she looked very smart and healthy when we saw her in bed she just could not even move her body by two inches.

"Asana" means "immovable", i.e. static, and often confused with the dynamic 108 natya karanas described in Natya Shastra and, along with the elements of Bhakti Yoga, is embodied in the contemporary form of Bharatanatyam.

Kundalini then ascends to the abode of Bharati (or Sarasvati) or the Vishuddha Chakra. Upon Her entrance, Ardha-Narisvara Siva, Sakini, the sixteen vowels, Mantra, etc., are dissolved in the body of Kundalini.
