It activates Brahma granthi and allows us to enter Brahma Loka (or Nirmanakaya). It tonifies, purifies, balances, and energizes, the pelvic and urogenital region (see vajroli mudra for more specific results at the urogenital diaphragm).

Mula bandha is said to cut through brahma granthi, the energetic knot of our resistance to change, which lies in mula- dhara chakra. On the physical level, practicing mula bandha creates attentiveness in the supportive musculature of the pelvis.

This meeting place is called Brahma Granthi. Again these meet at the Anahata and Ajna Chakra. In the macrocosm also you have a Triveni at Prayag where the three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Sarasvati meet.
