A Brahmin (pronunciation is Brahmann) is a member of the Hindu priestly caste. The word is related to, but not to be confused with, the Hindu religious conception of the transcendent and immanent supreme soul, "Brahman".

An orthodox Brahmin Pundit came to Kabir's house for discussing a philosophical problem. He saw the pig in front of the house. He was much upset, irritated and annoyed.

Nonetheless, in many cases it was preferable for a Pashupata to come from the Brahmin caste. The relationship between these Pashupata monks and the sadhu -s covered in ashes is uncertain. They may be the same or they may be different.

Most of the pants and skirts have traditional South Indian trims, complementing the vibrant cotton fabrics. These traditional fabrics are commonly used by Brahmin priests performing prayers in Indian temples.
