Why Breath of Fire?
Heat is used in Bikram Yoga in order to allow you to go deeper and safer into a Yoga Pose.

Hot yoga: Breath of fire (kapalabhati pranayama)
While you're getting busy, add rapid, forceful, and rhythmic breaths through the nose with the mouth closed.

Bhastrika, the breath of fire, by its very name tells us of its energetic properties. This form of yogic breathing involves forced exhalation through the nose with natural inhalation. This action is very heating and stimulating.

Breath of Fire: See Kapalabhati Causal Body: Yogic philosophy sees the body as a vehicle for the soul in its journey toward enlightenment and as such is really three "bodies". The causal body is the subtlest of the three bodies.

The breath of fire, a sniffing diaphragmatic breath with both inhale and exhale through the nose, is done in many Kundalini poses. To detox with this breath lay on your back and raise both arms and legs straight up in the air.

Practice Aums for at least 12 breaths then.
Stage 10
Inhale restrict the air flow to make the sound "sssss". Keep the sound constant and smooth.

Kapalabhati (breath of fire) is warming and energizing, purifying the body through the creation of heat and the movement of energy.

Some schools of yoga immediately introduce quite forceful and/or complex pranayama techniques, like kapalabhati (literally, "skull shining," but better known as "breath of fire") and nadi shodhana (alternate nostril breathing).
