The Eagle ? (Garudasana)
The Sanskrit word ?Garuda? means an eagle, hence the name given to this posture.

The Sanskrit word garuda means eagle.
Position of Readiness
Stand with feet together on the floor. Keep hands at your sides, eyes looking forward. Breathe normally.

Garudasana
Standing with your feet parallel and hip width apart, shift your weight toward the balls of your feet and press the soles of your feet downward.

Eagle Pose Garudasana
Standing, one elbow under other, arms crossed, one leg crossed over other,
semi-squat or balancing on one leg, look forward. Repeat on other side.
