Enlightenment is the process of detachment. We have to detach ourselves as much as possible from our ideas and images in order to proceed with our own development. It is not required that we live in pain or suffering.

Enlightenment through outcome arises out of setting goals and ambitions. We are all taught to mask our true feelings. We are afraid of the unknown, our feelings, our intuitions, because the outcome is unknowable.

Enlightenment is the opening of consciousness, it is not the closing of consciousness. Many people in the course of yogic practice tend to close their consciousness, to restrict their vision. That is not the aim.

ENLIGHTENMENT:
The final attainment on the spiritual path, when the limited sense of "I" merges into supreme Consciousness.

What is enlightenment? As our desire for happiness increases, our desire for material things increases, creating imbalance. ENLIGHTENMENT is the outcome of a harmonious, balanced personality.
