Havan is a procedure of eradicating inner imperfections prevalent in our being. This procedure has all the healing techniques incorporated in it beautifully.

 


HAVAN: Sacred oblations.
HIRANYAGARBHA: Cosmic intelligence; the supreme lord of the universe; cosmic mind.
INDRA: The Lord of gods; the ruler of heaven.
INDRIYAS: Senses.
ISHVARA: Lord; God.

Havan: Perform havan daily and in the sacrificial fire put scented objects. When the fire has ignited and has burned steadily for some time, repeat a prayer to the fire god Jataveda and perform trataka on the flame.

sraddhavan bhajate the one who has faith has love (for Me) . [Gita 6.47]
sraddhavan labhate jnanam the one who has faith attains to knowledge. [Gita 4.39]

Homa, or havan, is fire worship. In Tantra Yoga, homa is used to enhance the effects of japa. When the japa is done without any desire, it needs no fire worship.

The word is generated from havan. Havan means offering to the agni ( fire ). Offering something belonging to us to the fire is havan or home. Every article in this universe is made up of panchmahabhutas.

Raghavan, M.K.Raghavan, S.Sankunni. All the 5 pilgrims wore bright yellow dress, as suggested by Sree narayana Guru. All the way to Sivagiri, they were reciting 'Swaathanthrya gadha' - written by the great poet Kumaranaasan.

Yajna, Yaga , Havana ,Homa etc are the synonymous. The philosophy of yajna teaches a way of living in the society in harmony. The Yajnas are divided into various categories according to the need, purpose and technicalities.

Study of scriptures is a great help, offering of prayers, performing havanas and doing charitable deeds, and even contemplation on God for his sake - all these are of great use.

Archana - the “ritual worship' of the Divine through practices such as puja (deity worship), and havan or homa (fire offering). 6. Vandana - the “prostration' before the image of one’s chosen image or representation of the Divine.
