Iyengar Yoga
This type of yoga focuses on proper alignment and precise movements. Props such as blocks or straps are often used as part of Iyengar yoga for those who are not as flexible or to compensate for injuries.

Iyengar Yoga:
One of the soft styles of yoga, Iyengar is perfect for beginners and who haven't exercised in a while. In a lack of flexibility, you can use chairs & pillows to compensate if you have back or joint problems.

Iyengar in his 75th birthday teachings mentioned fundamentals that stem from Tadasana (the Mountain Pose) and hinted at the ability to attain ultimate states in the Yoga poses. These were states of samadhi.

Iyengar - a technical yoga with a strong focus on alignment and a heavy use of props. Iyengar yoga also emphasizes the therapeutic properties of the poses. A good choice for the beginning student.
