Jainism ( /ˈd'eɪnɪzəm/' Hindi: जैन धर्म Jaina dharma, Tamil: சமணம் Camaṇam) is an Indian religion that prescribes a path of non-violence towards all living beings.

 


Jainism: Non-orthodox form of Vedic/Aryan teaching, emphasizing non-violence.
Japa: Reciting sacred texts, practiced verbally and mentally.
Jiva: Life. The individual soul; at one with the universal soul.

There was an age for Vedanta when there were internal struggles between religions - Buddhism against Jainism, Jainism against Tantra, Tantra against Samkhya, Samkhya against Vedanta.

This little piece of land on earth known as 'India' today, has given four faiths or religions to the world namely:(1) Hindu, (2) Jainism, (3) Buddhism, and (4) Sikhism.

Timothy, Saying Buddhism and Jainism recognize/include Yoga is different than saying they originated it.
You at least seem to agree on Vedas as having the oldest claim on Yoga.
