Jala neti is a process of cleansing the nasal passages with salt water. This allows free breathing so that air can enter the lungs unimpeded by mucus and dirt which easily builds up during the day.

JALA BASTI: This is more effective than Sthala Basti. Take a small bamboo tube, five inches long. Lubricate one end of it with vaseline, oil or soap. Sit in a tub of water or in a tank in knee-level of water in Utkatasana.

Besides, the eyes could be endowed with better sight by performance of Jala neti process. It is very essential to sneeze out 40-50 times all the water from the nostrils after performance of Jala neti.

Jala Mandal (region of water"Apa Tattva) is here. Within this Chakra there is a space like a crescent moon or the form of a conch or Kunda flower. The presiding deity is Lord Brahma and Devata is Goddess Rakini.

Another specific yogic technique that helps prevent and cure colds, especially sinus related infections, is Jala Neti (nasal irrigation).

Yoga for your Nose is not a yoga style; it is a westernized description for the Indian technique of Jal Neti (Jala Neti, saline-water nasal cleansing). Neti (nasal cleansing) is one of the Shat Karmas (six cleansing techniques) of Hatha yoga.

Chakshurindriyam : ( Eyes ) - The eyeball is round, like cow's udder and with panchmahabhootas. The flesh, blood, black circle, white circle, tear ducts are made up of prithvi, teja, vayu, jala and aakash.

A small Himalayan ashram, known as Sivananda Kutir, was established in Netala, just outside of Uttar Kashi. It is situated on the banks of the Ganges and was to become the site of Swami Vishnudevananda's jala-samadhi (sacred drowning).
