Jihva dhauti one of the shatkarma techniques for cleansing the tongue. Jnana ...
Gandhari, Hastajihva, Kuhu, Sarasvati, Pusha, Sankhini, Payasvini, Varuni, Alambusha, Vishvodhara, Yasasvini, etc., are some other important Nadis. These have their origin in Kanda.
Start with tongue cleaning, jihva dhauti or jihva shodhan(2),because this is acceptable for most people, seen merely an extension of their routine teeth cleaning.
Vedic Sanskrit had a bilabial fricative [ɸ], called upadhmān"ya, and a velar fricative [x], called jihvamuliya. These are both allophones of visarga: upadhmaniya occurs before p and ph, jihvamuliya before k and kh.
The remaining of the 14 principal nadis are Gandhari, Hastajihva, Yashasvini, Pusha, Alambusha, Kuhu, Shankini, Sarasvati, Payasvini, Varuni, Vishvodara.
Ida, Pingala, Sushumna, Gandhari, Hastijihva, Pusa, Yusasvini, Alambusa, Kuhuh and Sankhini are said to be the ten important Nadis. The Yogis should have a knowledge of the Nadis and the Chakras.
