Kapha: The dosha governing all strength, substance, and structure of the body.
Kapha Qualities: kapha will have heavy, slow, cool, oily, liquid, dense, thick, static and cloudy qualities. Because of the heavy quality, these people have heavy bones, muscles and fat. They will have a tendency to put on weight.
Kapha is a white colored substance, which is cold, heavy, slow, sticky and glossy type. Even if it is subtle or gross, it has these qualities. As per ayurveda, kapha amounts to six palm full. That means it can be in liquid form too.
Kapha people are the opposite. They are the most solid dosha and show strength and stamina, loyalty and patience. They have watery constitutions and do not like the cold or damp.
During the kapha season it is best to alter your Yoga practice to help balance its influence. Hence, a practice, which is more stimulating and warming, is better at this time. In the pitta season a practice which is not as warming is best.
