A time for change comes in everyone's life. It is human nature to hold on to what we have. We are subject to the three gunas, and tamas is the most predominant quality in our life.

Padma: Lotus; lotus flower. Another name for the chakras, because sometimes they are visualized as spoked wheels, and at other times as lotus flowers.

I like to picture this as a Lotus Flower. The lotus flower grows out of the mud and muck. It rises above the challenge of the mud, opens to the sun and blooms.

A bee was engaged with great avidity in drinking the honey from the filaments of a lotus flower. It drank honey and got intoxicated. It was again and again sucking. It went on sucking from morning to evening.

The sitting position or posture of Pathmasan is similar to a Lotus flower.One can find the great Illumined Sage of India, Sri.Budha's sitting posture mostly in pathmasan.

Lotus Position - Padmasana, or Lotus Pose, named so because the position puts the souls of the feet up, reminiscent of a lotus flower. The prime position for meditation, it is the most renowned of all Hatha Yoga postures.

Place your hands on your knees, palms up. Hold as long as you wish.
This is one of the meditative postures. It imitates an inverted lotus flower. The head is held erect and the eyes closed during this posture.

The birth of a cakravartin was said to herald a new age. It is also said that the god Vishnu descended to Earth, having in his four arms a cakra, a lotus flower, a club, and a conch shell. (This may have referred to a cakra as a discus-like weapon.) ...

Feel yourself being fed, nourished, allow yourself to relax and expand, effortlessly - no muscles and no straining - and instinctively, like the lotus flower, open gently, bloom, and bathe in the light. The light is right there, here.
