Mahapurusha Srimanta Shankardeva[1] (1449-1568) (Assamese: মহাপুৰু- শ্ৰীমন্ত শঙ্-ৰেদৱ Mhapurux Srimnt Xnkrdev), saint-scholar, playwright, social-religious reformer, ...
The saints, mahapurushas, spiritual masters and god-men tell us that the river of desire flows in two opposite directions - good and bad, auspicious and inauspicious. We all have thoughts which flow in good and bad directions.
MAHAPURUSHA: A great soul. MAHARISHI: Great sage MAHASAMADHI: The departure of a Self-realized saint from his mortal coil. MAHATMA: Great soul MAITRI: Friendship. MANAS: Mind. MANONASA: Destruction of mind.
Generally we are carried away by the word 'divine', and are inclined to think that to divinely live would be to live like a god, like an angel, like a Mahapurusha or Siddha, and almost move like a god himself.
