Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
This is called Mountain Pose because it promotes the experience of stillness, strength, relaxed power, and immovable stability associated with mountains.

Mountain Yoga Pose
The Mountain Pose is one of the most important poses in yoga. It is the start and finish point of all standing poses.

A deceptive pose in that it appears so simple but it has a good strengthening effect upon the lungs and chest. Tada Asana is mainly a kriya of the hands and the arms.

Mountain Yoga Pose (Tadasana)
Tadasana is the most basic pose and is, therefore, the foundation for all others. Being stationary and passive, involves learning to stand erect, relaxed, and still.

The mountain Pose (tada-asana) Instruction:

Stand with both feet touching from the heel to the big toe, keeping the back straight and the arms pressed slightly against the sides with palms facing inward.

Mountain Pose
This is the basic standing pose and begins and ends all the standing poses. Stand with feet together, toes pointing forward and arms at your sides. Relax your shoulders; keep chin parallel to the floor.

Stand erect, feet together. Spread toes. Lift knee caps. Thigh bones back, tail bone in, lift sternum from base of spine. Shoulder blades & arms extend downwards.
Breathe and hold for 20-30 seconds.
