After Guru Purnanandaji decided to give up his material body, the teaching was maintained unaltered by his disciple, Swami Bhumananda Paramahansa (1873-1958), a renowned scholar throughout India.

My favorite book: The True History and the Religion of India, by Swami Prakashanand Saraswati. My favorite place: JKP Barsana Dham, an authentic ashram similar to the ashrams of the great Masters of India.

Shiva is white because he signifies the infinite divine light (prakasha), inert because the absence of movement and action reveals the consciousness pure, homogenous and compact.

In these ten words, the whole thing is said: bahih akalpita vrittih maha-videha tatah prakasha avarana ksayah. This is a sutra which nobody studies.

The light of our pure consciousness (prakasha) is dissolved (ksayah) by purification of the mind by the practice of Samyama (Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi).
