PUNYATITHI:
The anniversary of a great being's death.
PURANA(S)
Lit., "ancient.

He was born to an upper-caste Brahmin family, and his parents were probably named Sushila and Punyasadan Sharma. He was spiritually inclined right from his childhood.

Te = They; hlada = joy; paritapa = sorrow;phalah = fruit; punya = virtue; apunya = vice; hetut-vat = on account of.
Depending upon whether their cause is virtue or vice, the karmas (actions) fructify into pleasure and pain.

Maitri karuna muditopekshanam sukha dukha punyapunya
Vishayanam bhavanatashchittaprasadanam.

Having enjoyed the wide world of heavenly sense pleasures they go to the mortal world upon exhaustion of their good Karma (or Punya). Thus following the injunctions of three Vedas, the fruitive workers take repeated birth and death.

It is stated in the religious scriptures, that sweets should be consumed at festival time and simple food daily. Earlier due to the concepts of papa and punya, these rules of health were observed; nowadays they are not even considered.

Even if the donation does not come, the Sannyasin will not be perturbed because the Power of God on which a Sannyasin rests will take care of him in every way. Punya which the donor earns is not a business benefit but a spiritual protection that he ...
