Sadhaka Kamalakanta (c. 1769 - 1821) was a poet of India of the late 18th century. He is often considered to have followed the example of Ramprasad, both in his poetry and in his lifestyle.[1]

Sadhaka Pitta: A subdivision of pitta dosha that governs how we process our experiences, it coordinates thinking, feeling, and emotions and is responsible for the fulfillment of our desires.
Sadhu: Pious man; Sannyasin.

Sadhu - A holy man, ascetic, or monk.

Sadhakas often come to me and complain of lack of faith, I tell them, "Do not worry. Do sadhana. It is precisely lo induce faith that sadhana is prescribed." There is no place in spirituality for doubters. Doubters cannot progress.

Sadhakas should develop the following virtuous qualities:
Straightforwardness, service to Guru, the sick and old persons, Ahimsa, Brahmacharya, spontaneous generosity, Titiksha, Sama Drishti, Samata, spirit of service, selflessness, tolerance, ...

This is a student who strives for a goal.

SADHAKA:
A seeker on the spiritual path.

Leading straight to a goal; a means of accomplishing (something); spiritual practice; worship.

A Sadhaka has to avoid all these three types. We have discussed, in length, the krta (direct) type of violence. Let us now see the karita and anumodita types.

Each day the sadhaka (seeker or aspirant) dedicates her practice to her mother or grandmother(s), or even to the concept of motherhood or mother earth. Each sadhaka has a personal approach to her sadhana.

For the serious sadhaka, the surrounding will not be a deterrent. He has only to adjust himself to his surroundings. Obstacles and failures can become stepping stones to success. Unfavorable situations can be changed to favorable.

When all are plunged into the quagmire of illusion and desire, a true sadhak is the one who tries to emerge from it and know God. He is the one who offers his own life at His feet.

Barley is a fine article of diet for a Yogi and Sadhaka. It is cooling too. Sri Swami Narayan, the author of 'Ek Santka Anubhav', who wears a Kaupin of gunny bag, lives on bread, made up of barley. He recommends barley bread to his disciples.

  May she continue to shine the light of her knowledge and tapas like a beacon for Western sadhakas for many years to come.
