Sakti (S'akti): strength, energy, power, might, ability, effort, capability. Feminine aspect in relation to material activities. In three kinds (see also E n e r g y and further under P o t e n c i e s):
- Tatastha-, divine energy.
sakti (Shakti) Energy, Force, Strength, Will, Power; the self-existent, self-cognitive, self-effective Power of the Lord which expresses itself in the workings of prakrti. saktih [nominative] ...
Sakti Sanchara is of two kinds, viz., lower and higher. The lower one is Jada Kriya only wherein one automatically does Asanas, Bandhas and Mudras without any instructions when the Guru imparts the power to the student.
Anasakti is not an impractical ideal beyond the reach of man in modern society.
Maya sakti creates the ignorance of perception of separateness and diversity of objects in this world. She makes us believe that we are different from the world and all other beings.
Energy (Sakti) polarises itself into two forms namely, static or potential (Kundalini) dynamic (the working forces of the body as Prana). Behind all activity there is a static background.
Shakti or Sakti - Literally means STRENGTH. The Creative Power of Brahman; name of the Divine Mother. Those who worship Shakti, or the Divine Mother are called Saktas.

Two powers are said to be ever busy: the Avarana-Sakti or the veiling power, and the Vikshepa-Sakti or the projecting power. The latter becomes the cause of the creation of the universe from the subtle elements of the gross cosmos.
SAKTI: Power; the feminine aspect of Divinity.
SAKTI-SANCHAR: Transference of power by a developed Yogi.
SAMA: Serenity; control of mind.
SAMADHI: The state of superconsciousness where Absoluteness is experienced attended with all-knowledge and joy.
When you practise the following, concentrate on the Muladhara Chakra at the base of the spinal column, which is triangular in form and which is the seat of the Kundalini Sakti. Close the right nostril with your fight thumb.
Thou art Kali, Durga, Adisakti, Rajarajeswari, Tripurasundari, Maha-Lakshmi, Maha-Sarasvati! Thou hast put on all these names and forms. Thou hast manifested as Prana, electricity, force, magnetism, cohesion, gravitation in this universe.
Sankaradeva himself and the religion in general are particularly antagonistic to saktism which was strongly prevalent in Assam at the time. This probably explains the non-use of Radha as an icon.
The masculine power is known to be Siva and Sakti for the females. They become the elemental source of power and energy when they are united.
