Adi-shakti: mother Durga is worshipped by all tantrics as nirguna and saguna brahman (eternal spirit, formless and with form), and shabda Brahman (eternal sound). It is she who redeems all living beings from ignorance, evil and demonic spirits.

The characteristics of akasha (space or ether), that is shabda ( sound ) is received by the ears. The characteristics of vayu (air), that is sparsha (touch) is perceived through the skin.

Kundalini is the Sound of God (Shabda Brahman). Mantras are Kundalini herself, for She is all language.

Shabda, sound or verbal expression, is the credible testimony of authority, which requires not uncritical acceptance but the thoughtful consideration of words, meanings and the modes of reference.

Anahata sound, the sound of Shabda Brahman, is heard at this centre. When you do Sirshasana for a long time, you can distinctly hear this sound. Vayu Tattva is full of Sattva Guna. Vishnu Granthi is in this Sthana.
