Shiva Samhita (also Siva Samhita) is a Sanskrit text on yoga, written by an unknown author[1]. The text is addressed by the Hindu god Shiva to his consort Parvati ("Shiva Samhita" means "Shiva's Compendium").

 


Within the Shiva Samhita, the sun is referred to as being at the bottom of Meru (II. 10), which is a reference to the kundalini. Within the same text, the Bhandas, or chakra locks, appear again.

According to Shiva Samhita: "There is nothing as effective as nada to merge the mind." Just reflect upon how quickly one's whole mood and outlook change in response to favourable (or unfavourable) music.
