Sparsha diksha, diksha by touch, is a particular form of initiation which people also consider as shakti pat. There is a transferring of the energy of the Guru into the energy of the disciple and awakening of the chakras, or consciousness, or energy.

The characteristics of vayu (air), that is sparsha (touch) is perceived through the skin. Characteristics of teja (Fire), that is roopa (view) is seen through the eyes.
They are hatched. Even so the spiritual power is transmitted by the Guru to the disciple through touch (Sparsha) like birds, sight (Darshana) like fish, and thinking or willing (Sankalpa) like the tortoise.
