Mananat trayate iti mantrah is the definition of mantra. It means that as a result of regular and intensive mantra sadhana, the distractions, deviations, fluctuations, turbulence and disturbances of the mind slowly cease.

 


Swalpamapyasya dharmasya trayate mahato bhayat.
(Gita 2/40)
People are known to eat hot Jalebi and milk in early morning when they suffer from migraine. God alone knows how far this can help.

svalpam apyasya dharmasya trayate mahato bhayat even a little of this dharma delivers from the great fear. [Gita 2.40]
sva-mahimni in its [own] greatness.
svam damam own or proper home. [RV 1.75.5] ...

Manas: the mind or the thinking that one liberates with a mantra (manas trayate).
Mandara: the golden mountain used for churning the ocean in the fight between the s u r a s and the a s u r a s (see 8.5, 6 & 7).
