Sitting in utkatasana, naval deep in water, insert a tube in the anus and contract the anus. This cleansing with water is called basti karma.

Sit in a tub of water or in a tank in knee-level of water in Utkatasana. Insert the bamboo tube about 2 or 3 inches into the anus. Contract the anus. Draw the water into the intestines slowly. Shake the abdominal muscles and expel the water.

Assume the posture Utkatasana by resting your body on the forepart of your feet, the heels pressing against the posteriors.

Stand in this variation of Utkatasana for 8 to 12 breaths.
If the neck feels strained allow the head to tilt forward.
Take about 4 to 6 breaths in this forward bend.
If you cannot touch the toes use a strap or just hold the legs.

Firmly fixing two big toes on the ground, the heels being raised up in the air and placing the anus on the heels in called Utkatasana.

Stand erect, legs together hands by the side of the thighs. Gaze in front.
