Vasanas are like the seeds that have to fructify or manifest (abhivyakti) according to the favourable circumstances (anugunanam) at appropriate time (vipaka). Our psyche is a very fertile land.

 


Considered from the temporal standpoint, the protracted continuity of vasana as a strong force and the specific vasanas as persisting matrices of memory suggest the arbitrariness of the divisions of time into past, present and future.

When the stock of anadi vasanas, the beginningless emotions and desires, is exhausted, there comes the state of perfect balance and peace. You will be what you are now; you will be conscious of all things as you are now.

It maintains that Samskaras and Vasanas on the one hand, and Prana, on the other, constitute the causes for the existence of Chitta. If Vasanas are controlled, Prana is automatically controlled.

Most of us need to breakup and dissolve the old dysfunctional patterns, imprints (samskaras), habits (vasanas), and boundaries of the ego formed by fear, intellect, memory, and will, rather than reinforce them.

I am moving in the direction of those two Vayus and have rendered nil all my Vasanas in the waking state lit unto those of the dreamless sleeping state.

Countless Vrittis are rising and subsiding in the ocean of Chitta. These Vrittis cause restlessness of mind. Why do Vrittis arise from the Chitta? Because of Samskaras and Vasanas.

Everything passes - even this shall pass away - even your body; even your mind which also is a complexity of structures, of various impressions, or Vasanas. Various thoughts put together constitute the mind.
